Landscape Photography
Prior to becoming a professional photographer, I qualified and practiced as a chartered landscape architect for many years. In addition to running community events, designing parks and open spaces, I’d photograph all stages of a project for inclusion in project profiles, marketing materials and websites.
Having been a designer, I understand how best to showcase spaces through the eye of a designer. I’ll capture intricate details, key vistas and viewpoints, planting combinations, historical references and how designed spaces sit within their surroundings.
I also strive to capture key features within your design in their best light. I regularly suggest photographing landscapes both at dawn and dusk to show off lighting schemes, planting and also allow the scheme to be photographed with and without people using the space.
A collection of my private work is available to purchase as premium mounted and framed prints. Please visit Paul Upward Fine Arts Gallery to see my latest work.
I work with a wide range of clients including:
- Landscape architects
- Environmental charities and agencies
- Local authorities
- Housing associations
- Urban designers
- Landscape contractors
- Garden designers
I can also be regularly found photographing awards ceremonies and CPD seminars for the Landscape Institute. I also photograph show gardens at both Chelsea and Hampton Court for landscape architects and garden designers.
If you’d like me to photograph your completed project, its construction, community consultations, or even headshots of you and your team, please get in touch.
